Bungalow Q3 Launch Update

Our Meet & Greet experience is a key element of our Rooms product, making it easy for potential residents and current residents to connect over shared interests and priorities to find the best roommate. 

In order to help residents better navigate the many interested applicants, we launched the “Verified Bungalow Member” – an additional pre-screening check before prospective roommates can begin chats. Now, all residents will see a blue check on a profile indicating the applicant went through additional checks before starting a chat.

We heard feedback from our residents that our billing and maintenance processes could be improved. With that mind, we partnered with AppFolio, the leading property management software, to bring our residents improved capabilities, including:

• Access 24/7 Repair & Maintenance Phone Support for all residents 

• View status of all maintenance requests in one place

• Easily make payments via eCheck, debit, or credit card

• Gain a one-stop-shop to view lease documents, lease renewals, renters insurance, and more

We are very proud of how we have been able to keep our rents affordable for our residents despite rising rents throughout the country. According to the Bungalow Q3 Rent Report, The Bungalow national average for room rentals in Q3 2022 was $1,218. In major cities like New York renting with Bungalow can save residents nearly $2,500 compared to renting a one-bedroom.

Housing is broken and finding a home is now harder than ever. That is why we are committed to making it better for everyone involved and have expanded our inventory to make housing more accessible. We brought on over 65 properties in Texas, 30 in Denver and opened up new supply in Washington D.C. with half a dozen new properties to date. Up next, we will be focusing on opening up additional supply in Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis and Atlanta in the coming months.

We want our residents to not only build community, but to bring their friends and community members into a Bungalow home too! That’s why we relaunched our referral program – making it even more attractive and exciting for residents to refer new roommates. Residents can earn up to $500 depending on their residence, and even better, the referred resident can also earn up to $500.

We know moving to a new place may be overwhelming for many of our residents. To make the journey of moving to a new city (or choosing which city to move to) a bit easier, we launched over 15 city and neighborhood guides on our blog featuring top highlights and destinations within a city. To date, over 500,000 visitors have viewed one of these city guides!
