Is there good public transportation in Philadelphia?

Philadelphia's public transit system is operated by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transport Authority, or SEPTA. SEPTA operates buses, trolleys, trains, and bridges throughout Philly and the surrounding areas. The bus offerings are most comprehensive of all but for more long-distance travel outside of SEPA's coverage area, train is generally more recommended than bus. For riders who have disabilities or require assistance to use transit services in Philadelphia, there are also ADA Paratransit buses that operate around parts of SEPA's service area.
