The waterfront offers extensive cycling and hiking opportunities, and an old-fashioned cable car can take you up and down the steep hills in the city. For those seeking more foodie adventures, there's plenty of that in this beautifully varied city too — from salted caramel ice cream at Bi-Rite Market & Creamery to French toast with hazelnut butter custard at Nutella Café tucked inside Ferry Building Marketplace.
